Sunday 25 July 2021

2021 has been a significant year of growth for the EuroDov Tour. The 2021 schedule enters the latter stages in year that has already seen five events with another five to come before the season ends.
EuroDov Tour Secretary David McColgan said, “It’s been great to see the engagement from the membership across our events. We’ve had seven players take part in the Order of Merit, a history making field of eight in the EuroDov Cup and sixteen players committed to the Anstruther Medal at the beginning of August.”

The Tour’s expansion has seen new formats for the players including a season long cumulative competition in the Order of Merit and the Pairs event Anstruther medal. However, this has not seen the Tour rest on its laurels. In April, the Tour announced the first restricted field competition, The Invitational, that will see a field of 8 players qualify from the season ending showcase the RyDov Cup.
D. McColgan said, “The Invitational is a great addition to the roster, it adds an exciting dimension to the RyDov Cup and will create a special event for the Tour in May.”

The Tour’s appeal to many players is the differing formats and venues on offer and today we have exciting news of a new tournament for 2022. The EuroDov Tour will introduce the Summer Shootout, to be held on Saturday July 1st, 2022, it will be the sixth stand alone event of the season and the 12th event in total.

Tour Secretary, David McColgan said, “this is an exciting prospect, we’ve prided ourselves on doing things different at the EuroDov Tour and providing a variety of tournaments for the members.

I am delighted to introduce the Summer Shootout, an 18 hole, strokeplay competition with a difference, the difference? It is 18 holes of par 3 golf.

We will be taking the Tour to the Glorious Playground of Gleneagles to take on the PGA Academy Course a 9-hole par-3 course consisting of holes ranging from 120 to 215 yards. With tight fairways, punishing rough and tough green complexes it is going to test players to their limit.”

Well, there we have it folks, the Tour is adding Gleneagles to the list of venues alongside St Andrews and of course the spiritual home of the Tour Kinross. The event is sure to be a popular one and will be a real tester for the field.

The first playing of the Summer Shootout will be on Saturday July 1st 2022, and players have until October 30th, 2021, to declare their availability.
